Membership Criteria for Car Owners: Come willing to make new friends Must enjoy drag racing and cool gassers and match racing Have a blast...a quarter mile at a time Commit to bringing spouse, significant other, family members or All cars must meet (NHRA - IHRA) safety requirements depending on the host drag strip. Trans brakes and/or line locks are allowed. Any ignition system is allowed. NO data recorders are allowed. NO delay boxes are allowed. NO air shifters are allowed. Rev limiters are allowed ONLY to protect the engine. They CANNOT be used to control the cars launch. Any steel or aluminum heads are allowed. Superchargers are limited to 8:71 roots-type only. Any intake and carb combination or mechanical fuel injection allowed. Only gas and alcohol are allowed as fuel. NO Nitromethane. No snorkel scoops or aero wings.
All cars MUST run with open headers. Any exceptions are subject to the approval of the tech committee. Period correct wheels ONLY. (I.E. steelies, Cragars, Halibrand) "modern" billet style wheels allowed 9.99 and faster. All cars MUST have a period correct paint scheme or primer. No wild, modern graphics will be allowed. All cars in competition MUST be permanently lettered with a minimum of the car number and class designation (AA/GS, A/G, B/G etc.) and a "nickname" or other name designation. Vinyl or paint lettering is allowed. Sponsor decals must be prominently displayed on both SIDES of the car to be eligible for any cash or merchandise awards. Body types MUST be pre-1968. Pony cars such as Camaro, Mustang, Firebird etc. WILL be accepted. All cars must be able to run at least as quick as 12.50 with the exception of flathead, six or straight-eight powered cars. All races are run on a dial-your-own basis. SAFETY Helmets must meet SNELL or SFI 31.2 or 41.2aspecificationsAll Helmets must have the appropriate certification sticker affixed inside the helmet. Protective Clothing :jacket and pants must meet SFI spec. 3.2a 3.2a/5 9.99 and faster Seat Belts must meet SFI spec16.1 and be less than two years old. TECHNICAL INSPECTION The guildelines set within, and the safety rules set forth by the NHRA are intended solely as the minimum acceptable standards. Safety is the responsibilty of the particpant. Prior to competition, all vechicles and drivers must pass the host facility's tech inspection. NHRA safety regulations supersede any and all other regulations. The final interpretation of any and all rules concerning safety is solrly at the discretion of the host facility's Tech Director.
